The Bird's Opening: Back-Rank Mate (Bogorad–Labate) is a classic chess opening trap arising from the Bird's opening. In this line Black delivers checkmate on move 6, punishing a natural-looking but losing idea from White.
The full sequence runs 1.f4 Nc6 2.b3 e5 3.e4 exf4 4.Bc4 Qh4+ 5.Kf1 Bc5 6.Nf3 Qf2#. Each move looks reasonable, which is exactly why the trap is so effective over the board — White walks into it while trying to play "normal" developing moves.
