The English Opening: Opening Trap (Kaprinay–H Hubner) is a classic chess opening trap arising from the English Opening. In this line White wins decisive material by move 8, punishing a natural-looking but losing idea from Black.
The full sequence runs 1.c4 e5 2.Nc3 Nc6 3.g3 Nf6 4.Bg2 Bb4 5.Nd5 Nxd5 6.cxd5 Nd4 7.e3 Nf5 8.Qg4. Each move looks reasonable, which is exactly why the trap is so effective over the board — Black walks into it while trying to play "normal" developing moves.
